Over the course of his career, Evan has conceived and executed innovative operational and marketing strategies designed to accelerate growth and revive underperforming brands. He has also focused on real estate investment and development in luxury residential markets in California and Florida.
Following the firm’s acquisition of Pabst Brewing Company in 2010, Evan served as co-CEO of the company best known for producing Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) beer and several other regional brands. He oversaw the development and execution of new product innovation, international growth, complementary acquisitions as well as sales and marketing strategies. Within a few short years, the popularity of PBR and the regional brands had skyrocketed, leading to the sale of the company to another investor group in 2014 for more than $700 million. Prior to that, Evan played a key role working with his father, Dean, and brother, Daren, to re-energize numerous brands with deep roots in American culture through innovative marketing techniques. On behalf of Aurora Foods, which the firm acquired out of bankruptcy, he helped to spearhead the resurgence of brands such as Aunt Jemima, Duncan Hines and Log Cabin through creative marketing and public relations campaigns. After a successful restructuring, the new corporation, renamed Pinnacle Foods, was sold in 2007 to the Blackstone Group for $2.2 billion. For International Home Foods’ brands including Chef Boyardee, Gulden’s Mustard and Hungry Man, he effectively tapped into pop culture assets, celebrity figures and sports and entertainment programming, including the WWE and NFL, to develop fresh and relevant marketing campaigns. His vision and strategies dramatically increased brand awareness, created new connections with target consumers, elevated brand perceptions, and most importantly, led to strong sales growth. In addition to lecturing on business and marketing topics at Cornell University and his alma matter, the University of Connecticut, he has been quoted in numerous major media outlets. |
